Description:

Cisco Aironet Access Point and Cisco Aironet Bridge are vulnerable to a denial of service attack, if Telnet access is enabled. If a remote attacker attempts to access the device using Telnet and an invalid username and password, the attacker can cause the device to reboot.

Platforms Affected:

  • Cisco, Aironet AP340 11.21
  • Cisco, Aironet AP350 11.21
  • Cisco, Aironet Bridge 350

Remedy:

Upgrade to the latest software version (11.21 or later), as listed in Cisco Security Advisory, April 9, 2002. See References.
