Description:

EMU Webmail could allow a remote attacker to view arbitrary files. A remote attacker can send a specially-crafted HTTP request containing the emumail.cgi script and the file name appended with a NULL byte character (%00) to view contents of the specified file.

  • EMUMAIL, EMU Webmail 4.5.x
  • EMUMAIL, EMU Webmail 5.1

Remedy:

For EMU Webmail 4.5.x and 5.1:
Apply the latest patches available for this vulnerability, available from the EMUMAIL Download Web page. See References.
