Mandrake Linux passwd program used with PAM authentication fails to use md5 encryption
| linux-passwd-weak-encryption (7706) |
Description:
The passwd program in Mandrake Linux uses weaker than expected encryption when used with PAM (Pluggable Application Module) authentication files. If a password is changed after installation or a new account is created, the new password would not use md5 encryption.
