Description:

Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) is vulnerable to a denial of service attack involving a specially-crafted WebDAV request. A remote attacker can send an overly long, specially-crafted request to the Web server, which would cause an access violation error, causing the service to fail. This vulnerability also causes the Web server to restart automatically, which disconnects any active sessions.

Apply the appropriate patch for your system, as listed in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS02-001. See References.
