Apache Jakarta Tomcat delivers file contents

Description:
Jakarta Tomcat could allow an attacker to read the contents of any file on the Web server. The program includes a sample file, source.jsp, that displays the contents of a requested file in a Web browser. By using "dot dot" (../) sequences, a remote attacker could use the source.jsp file to traverse directories and read the contents of any file on the Web server.

Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of Apache (3.1 or later), from the Jakarta Project Web site. See References.
