BEA WebLogic CredentialMapper stores passwords in plain text

Description:
BEA WebLogic could allow a local attacker to obtain user passwords. The CredentialMapper component, which is used to retrieve credentials for a target resource, stores passwords in plain text on a disk. A local attacker with access to the files on the disk could recover the passwords to gain unauthorized access to another user's WebLogic account.

Remedy:
For WebLogic Server and Express 7.0 or 7.0.0.1:
Upgrade to Service Pack 2 or later and apply the CR104520_700sp2 patch, as listed in BEA Systems, Inc. Security Advisory BEA03-30.00. See References.
