Description:
Apple's QuickTime Streaming Server and Darwin's Streaming Server are vulnerable to buffer overflow in the MP3 broadcasting module. By creating an MP3 file with a file name of more than 256 bytes, a remote or local attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges, once the MP3 file is played on one of the affected streaming servers.

Remedy:
For Apple Mac OS X 10.2.3:
Apply the Mac OS X Server Update 10.2.4, as listed in AppleCare Knowledge Base Document 70171. See References.

Apply the Mac OS X Server Update Combo 10.2.4, as listed in AppleCare Knowledge Base Document 70172. See References.
