Mini Server "dot dot" directory traversal

Description:
Mini Server could allow a remote attacker to traverse directories on the Web server. A remote attacker could send a specially-crafted URL request containing "dot dot" sequences using forward-slash or backslash characters (in the form of /../ or \..\) to traverse directories and view any file on the Web server.

Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of Mini Server (3.0 or later), when it becomes available, as listed in BugTraq Mailing List posting dated Sun Oct 13 2002 - 03:29:53 CDT. See References.
