Description:

The purity game package included with Debian Linux is vulnerable to two buffer overflows. A remote attacker could overflow a buffer in the purity package to gain the privileges of the group games, which could then be used to perform limited actions on the vulnerable system.

Remedy:

For Debian GNU/Linux:
Upgrade to the appropriate purity packages, as listed below. Refer to DSA 166-1 for for information. See References.

Debian GNU/Linux 3.0: 1-14.2 or later
