| netris-remote-bo (10081) |
Description:
Netris is a freely available game, created by Mark H. Weaver, for BSD and Unix-based operating systems. Netris versions 0.5 and earlier are vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by a buffer overflow. By sending an overly long string to the Netris server typically running on port 9284, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and cause the program to crash.
Note: It is unknown whether this vulnerability can be exploited to execute code on the system.
Platforms Affected:
- Jude Shabry, Netris 0.5 and prior
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of Netris (0.52 or later), available from the Netris Web site. See References.
