Microsoft Outlook Express "A HREF" denial of service

Description:
Microsoft Outlook Express is vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by a buffer overflow in the decoding of HTML emails. By sending an HTML email containing an overly long <A HREF> link, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and cause the victim's Outlook Express client to crash.
Platforms Affected:
- Microsoft, Outlook Express 5.0
- Microsoft, Outlook Express 5.5
- Microsoft, Outlook Express 6.0
Remedy:
This vulnerability is reported to have been fixed in Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1. This update can be downloaded from the Microsoft Windows Update Web site. See References.
