A Trojan horse, or Trojan, is any malicious program that installs itself secretly while disguised as or hidden within legitimate software. Once infected, the author of the Trojan can control the computer, steal sensitive information, and/or damage the system. Trojans are frequently distributed through unsolicited email attachments, and are also embedded within freeware and shareware programs.
