SNMPsec

advICE :Reference :Networking :SNMP :SNMPv1 : SNMPsec
The SNMP "party" security framework was proposed in 1992 as a prelude to SNMPv2. While this proposal was never adopted "as is", it became the foundation for SNMPv2 security mechanisms.
  • RFC1351 -Elaborates on the SNMPv1 model in order to provide security.
  • RFC1352 -Defines a new security "wrapper" for SNMP, replacing the community-string wrapper in SNMPv1.
  • RFC1353 -The Party MIB to support this model.
