- Stalkers generally lose interest if they don't get the reactions they seek. Don't give them the reaction they seek!
How do defend yourself:
- Learn 'netiquette'
- Don't respond to "flames"
- Choose a genderless alias (screen name)
- Don't flirt online
- Save offending messages
- Get out of hostile situations quickly
For example, inexperienced users will often write in all lower-case (or worse, all upper-case) characters. Cyberstalkers invariably target inexperienced users. Therefore, you will avoid most cyberstalking simply by writing correctly.
