Trin00 (aka. trinoo) was one of the first DDoS programs. Its first detected use was in August 1999 against the University of Minnesota. Trin00 was written for the popular Solaris and Linux platforms. In late 1999, huge numbers of such machine where vulnerable to exploits against RPC services like rpc.cmsd, rpc.ttdbserverd, and rpc.statd.
